In Australia there are two classes of safety glass. Grade A safety glass is toughened or laminated glass. The only glass to be classified as Grade B is wired glass.
All buildings must be glazed in accordance with Australian Standard AS 1288 – Glass in Buildings. This means that high risk areas of your home must be glazed with Grade A Safety Glass. This includes, but is not restricted to, low level windows, bathrooms, glass doors, door side panels and areas around stairs.
